This isn’t a post about “how I’m going to get in shape” or “how I’m going to start eating healthy again”. In fact, I’m not really a believer in New Year’s resolutions, but I do believe there is something powerful in a clean slate. It allows us the opportunity to reflect on the past and hit the refresh button on life (which is definitely easier said than done). So in 2018, I decided I would actual set GOALS for myself. I’m not talking resolutions, I’m talking achievable things that I can work towards throughout this year and not feel like a complete failure by day three.
With a few hours to spare, I’m finally taking the time to share some of my favorite moments from the past year. 2017 has been a complete whirlwind between work, traveling, weddings, and everything else in between. They say a picture is worth 1000 words (#socheesy), so I’m not going to write any more of them. I recognize this post is totally personal (I gotta do me sometimes), but here is the recap of the past year from my camera roll.
Happy Monday, people! LONG TIME, NO BLOG.
If you’re wondering why I have been MIA from the blog, here’s a few reasons: busy season, the holiday season, and busy season. From Thanksgiving until Christmas my life is
a little extra crazy absolute insanity between holiday festivities (because I want to take part in all the celebrations) and trying to do all the things I need to do at work (which seems pretty endless at this point, hence the Big 4 term “busy season”). BUT YAY LIFE! The funny thing is, this post was actually per request of my co-workers because…
You’ve probably never even heard of it, but a couple months ago I ventured to a little seaside town in California called Carmel-by-the-Sea. It was actually recommended by my mother (yep, the one who HATES traveling) as a peaceful place to get some R&R. So my friend/co-worker/fellow world traveler decided to take a short adventure to Carmel before making our way to Napa later on that week.
Am I the only one who giggles at the word “booties” in some contexts!? Probably. Oh well. I’ll embrace that I act like I’m 5 some days.
Well howdy, y’all! I have some GREAT news for you today. FALL IN TEXAS IS FINALLY HERE IN FULL FORCE! I’m talking like…I’ve worn a jacket 5 days in a row now (well at least for part of the day). It’s truly a miracle here in the Lone Star State. And since every girl’s favorite season for fashion is upon us, it’s time for me to share ALL THE BOOTIES you should be buying this fall!
Are you looking for a new restaurant to try? Or maybe something new to do on this weekend? Or what you should check out while you’re visiting Dallas? Well, your girl Lyd has got you covered! One of my favorite hobbies is scouting out the hottest spots in my city and giving peeps the low down on my experience. Now that I’m back home, I feel like I’m catching up on all the new(ish) places that opened up in Dallas while I was gone in September.
Sorry, that was an obnoxious greeting to start this post. 🙂 Hello friends! I’m currently writing from a perfect sunny and 75 degree day in Kirkland, a little suburb outside of Seattle. [Oops, posting this one a little late.] It’s seriously freakin’ beautiful here (pictures to come). This is my little stopover in between my trips to Canada and California. So, I figured no better time to write about Canada (specifically British Columbia) than when it’s fresh on the brain.
I will be honest, I thought Van was pretty “eh” as a city goes, but Victoria was absolutely beauuuuutiful. That being said, there will probably be less recommendations here than you find in my typical travel guides because I will never recommend something if I didn’t even enjoy it myself. 🙂 Read on for the best parts of my trip to BC below!
